The authors of the book Riccardo Francavilla and Margherita Sgarlat live near the city of Catania, at the foot of Etna volcano. He writes stories and creates illustrations, and she paints them. In Italy, they wrote and illustrated about thirty books, manuals and children's albums. Some of them were printed in Switzerland, Germany, England, Canada, Korea and Portugal. Riccardo teaches painting at the Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture in Catania. The couple travels, conducts seminars and organizes theatrical performances.
